Born and bred in Cape Town South Africa, Yonus Degel age 30 has returned after living 8 years abroad in Oslo Norway, where he established himself as one of the leading younger upcoming Urban Contemporary / neo-expressionist painters.
Having sold to the Crown Princess of Norway Mette Marit and worked with numerous prominent figures within Oslo, his abstract compositions are admired by collectors from around the globe and have been showcased in multiple solo and group exhibitions.
Degel's works are full of iconography and symbolism inspired by spirituality and ancestry in Africa. Whilst Yonus has remained well connected to the graffiti community, which has given him the opportunity to have painted in many different countries while living abroad in Europe.
