Antonio Rafael is a coahuiltecan and boricua agroecologist, artist, educator, and beekeeper from Southwest, Detroit. When the Detroit graffiti scene was on, Antonio tagged the 15 story Brewster Douglass building, and prolifically painted/tagged Decolonize around Detroit. His viral axing of Christopher Columbus, got the statue taken down and the holiday ended. He was arrested with ASTRO while painting Free the Water on the Highland Park watertower to oppose water shutoffs. Much of Antonio’s current work focuses on getting people outdoors, hunting, foraging, fishing and building connections with nature from the rez to the hood via Black to the Land Coalition.
