Back for his 9th RUN, we are excited to showcase these mammoth hand-pulled screen prints from Camilo Pardo in his latest screen print. Limited to only 15, these massive Ferrari screen prints are definitely signature Camilo as they feature bold, fast and unique colorways that nearly burn rubber off the thick 356gsm paper they are screened on. Camilo's work speaks to both his love for linear perfection and his fascination for the manner in which those lines deliver aesthetic satisfaction to the viewer. Viewers have long said that Camilo's works genuinely seem to move and these Ferrari screen prints are no different.

Camilo Pardo Returns As He Celebrates His Victory Of Becoming TruTV’s First Motor City Master!

Hosted by Brooke Burns, MOTOR CITY MASTERS pits 10 talented designers from different parts of the automotive industry against each other each week in the ambitious task of creating new, fully-functional concept cars based around a theme.

Pardo, an artist and designer who lives and works in Detroit — when he’s not competing on reality shows — owns an art gallery not too far from Comerica Park. A former chief designer at Ford, the 51-year-old also taught classes at the city’s renowned College for Creative Studies.

Internationally recognized for his groundbreaking design on the Ford GT, Camilo’s work carries an inertia that transcends from his work seen on the city’s freeways as it flows seamlessly into the worlds of fashion and fine art galleries.

The show Motor City Masters had been shot in and around Los Angeles, but the season finale was shot in Detroit, and the winner, Camila Pardo, was crowned at the GM headquarters. Pardo, sees coming home as an omen. “I’m back to the Motor City. I wasn’t sure how long I was going to be in the challenge,” he says,“but I made it all the way through and I made it all the way back. … Everything has built up to this moment.”

Camilo is the former chief designer at Ford (2004-2006) where he was responsible for designs of the SVT Mustang, the Ford Focus and the Ford GT. He won the IDSA (Industrial Design Society Merit Award) and was the first student at CCS to hold an international internship (France)

One by one, designers who fall short will be sent home by the judges until only a single MOTOR CITY MASTER remains. Industry expert judges Jean Jennings and Harald Belker are joined by celebrity guest judges including actress Melissa Joan Hart, actor Jesse Metcalfe, Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz, baseball great David Justice and former NASCAR driver Robby Gordon.

About the Artist

Location: Detroit, Mi

The art that Camilo Pardo has created over the years is all over Detroit. A considerable amount of it is present on our freeways at any given moment of the day. Most recognized for his design work on the Ford GT, Camilo put verve in the steel curves and reminded us that a car's first internal combustion takes place in an artist's mind. The car's external beauty is born there as well. That mind has not ceased from creative labors, even if they're no longer entirely devoted to Motor City mojo.

Camilo's paintings and drawings speak to both his love for linear perfection and his fascination for the manner in which those lines deliver aesthetic satisfaction to the viewer. His works genuinely seem to move and they are energized by what is obviously a rich understanding and respect for popular culture and traditional disciplines. In less talented hands, such a seeming contradiction of forces would negate the best efforts. Camilo makes them reconcile, complement each other and dance together.
