Archival Pigment Print on 330gsm Fine Art Paper
Joining us for his debut RUN we welcome Suggestivism artist Joe Vaux as he brings us the archival pigment prints "Blackend" as well as 3 original paintings from his 2010 Maze series.
"'Blackened" is inspired by the Metallica song of the same name. It represents man's rape of our beautiful planet. It was created under extreme physical and mental stress. I was directing and episode of Family Guy, writing an episode of Family Guy, participating and eventually winning an episode of ABC's "Wipeout", painting and trying to be a good dad. It was originally painted for a Metallica tribute show but because of some miscommunication ended up in the "Dark Pop 4" exhibition at the LAST RITES Gallery, New York. The 3 Le Maze paintings evolved out of drawings I created with my son during a winter holiday in 2010. They're paintings, they're puzzle mazes, they look great anywhere. The series is lovingly painted with acrylic on wood panel and measure 18x12 inches. You can get one of these original paintings ready to hang gems for $1000." - Joe Vaux
