"Chaos reigns" is a recurring line in the controversial film Antichrist, and it does seem to have some thematic relevance to this imaginative and symbol-rich dwelling fashioned by Justin Lovato. One cannot immediately determine if the artist is showing a tiered altar with strange animals prepared for sacrifice, or a canopied corner of some darker universe where natural laws are in abeyance. Lovato himself is a remarkably eclectic painter and he references a myriad number of ideas in his canvases. It is not decadence, however, that the viewer will be struck by here, but a rich feast of secrets.
